Noah’s Notes Author Comments – Haruto Ikezawa

On the Table of Contents page for every issue of Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan, the authors of the currently serialized manga series can list a small message to the readers. There is typically only enough space for a sentence or two, but it allows for a little insight into the author’s daily life.

The Noah’s Notes (ノアズノーツ) manga was created by Haruto Ikezawa (池沢春人) and started its serialization in issue #15 of Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018. The series ran for only 22 chapters and concluded in issue #38 that same year. A total of 3 volumes were released in Japan for the series. The author had previously created two other series in the magazine; Kurogane (クロガネ), which ran for 68 chapters between 2011 and 2013 and Mononofu (ものの歩) which ran for 44 chapters between 2015 and 2016. 2018 was also year-long celebration of the 50^th anniversary of Weekly Shonen Jump. As the series was published during the anniversary issue, it did also receive various promotion alongside the larger magazine’s history. The first 3 chapters of the Noah’s Notes series were officially translated into English as part of Viz’s “Jump Start” program in 2018, but it did not continue the official translation at that time.
