To celebrate Weekly Shonen Jump‘s 25th anniversary, Shueisha decided to create a new style event to promote it’s history for the fans. The name of the event was called “Weekly Jump Multi World” and was a exhibition that was held in the Tokyo Dome Prism Hall between July 28th through August 15th, 1993. The event cost 700 yen for admission and guests were able to receive as special booklet which highlighted some of the items on display. The booklet was never available for sale directly.
One of the first sections within this booklet is an illustrated map of the Jump Multi World event. This pull-out 3 page map highlights the different areas in the event. On the reverse side of this map was a special poster created to celebrate the 25th anniversary featuring some of the manga series that were running in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1993.
Below is a transcription and a rough English translation of the 10 different key areas of the Jump Multi World event. Each area is numbered starting in the bottom left and then going clockwise until the 6th area.
1. Jump Heroes Line-up (ジャンプ英雄列伝)
マルチワールドのゲートをくぐって、キミたちが最初に目にするこのコーナーは、いわばマルチワールドへの導入部だ! 創刊以来25年のあいだにマンガやTVで活躍した、ジャンプのスーパーキャラたちが、時を越えてここに集合!!! 総出でキミたちを歓迎するぞ!!!
When you first pass through the gate into the Multi World, you are greeted by series of the Multi World! The super characters from Jump that have been in the manga and on TV for the last 25 years transcend time and are all together!!! They are all here to welcome you!!!
2. Jump Museum NOW (ジャンプミュージアムNOW)
次にあらわれるのが、週刊少年ジャンプの誌上を飾る、カラーページの原画を集めた大展示コーナー!! 展示される原画の総数は、なんと400枚以上!! ジャンプを代表する、秋本治、鳥山明両先生の特別展示コーナーをはじめ、ジャンプキャラのフィギュアを乗せた海賊船の超大型ジオラマなども、絶対に見逃せないぞ!!!!
Next up is a large exhibition area that displays some of the original color pages from Weekly Shonen Jump!! There are over 400 original drawings on display!! You definitely can’t miss the special exhibits for two of Jump’s most popular creators, Osamu Akimoto and Akira Toriyama. Plus there is a huge pirate ship diorama featuring Jump characters on board!!!!
2A. Osami Akimoto Corner (秋本 治コーナー)
週刊少年ジャンプで17年の最長連載を続ける、『こちら葛飾区亀有公園前派出所』の特集コーナー。なんと、原寸大の派出所を再現だ!
This corner features the series that has been running in Weekly Shonen Jump for 17 years, “Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo.” A full-size police box has been recreated!
2B. 4-Panel Manga (4コママンガ)
友情、努力、勝利をテーマに、連載作家の先生が描きおろした、笑いあり涙ありの4コママンガが、ビッグサイズで展示されている!
A collection of 4-panel manga with the themes of friendship, effort, and victory, all drawn by current authors are on display in a large format for all of your laughs and tears!
2C. Akira Toriyama Corner (鳥山 明コーナー)
『Dr.スランプ』『ドラゴンボール』とヒット作連発の鳥山明先生の仕事場を会場に再現! 傑作が生み出される部屋を見学しよう!!
“Dr. Slump” and “Dragon Ball” creator, Akira Toriyama, will have his studio recreated at the event! Come see the room where his masterpieces are created!!
3. Dragon Ball Z Game Robot (DBZゲームロボ)
このコーナーでは『ドラゴンボール』の鳥山明先生がデザインを担当した最新ゲームマシンで対戦プレーを楽しもう! アニメスタッフが参加したグラフィックは、TVの『ドラゴンボールZ』に匹敵する動きと美しさを実現!!今までのゲームとは一味違う迫力だ!!!
In this corner you can play against each other on the latest game machine designed by “Dragon Ball” creator, Akira Toriyama! The graphics, created with the help from the anime staff, have achieved the motion and beauty that rivals the “Dragon Ball Z” TV series!! It’s a thrilling game unlike any you played before!!!
4. Dragon Ball Virtual Reality Battle Game (DB VRバトルゲーム)

This corner features all the information about the gaming topics everyone is talking about! You’ll find the latest software information for Jump games from various companies, strategies, and (secret) information all in one place! Experience the latest software before anyone else with demo versions and knockout game tournaments!!!
6. Multimedia PC Land (マルチメディアパソコンランド)
21世紀の近未来メディア、デジタルBook、CD-Iを体験!また、ジャンプの先生たちが日替わりで参加する、パソコンペインティングは、先生の描いた下描きに、パソコンで色をつけてキミだけのオリジナルイラストを完成させるコーナーだ!!
Experience the near-future media of the 21st century with digital books and the CD-I! Also a Sensei from Jump will take turns each day in the PC painting corner where you can color their rough sketches on the computer to complete your own original illustration!!
7. High Vision Theater (ハイビジョンシアター)
現在のTV放送に比べて3倍以上の情報量を持つ世界最高の映像、ハイビジョンを、幅3.3メートルのビッグサイズで使用した超ド級のアニメシアターがこれだ! 映画で活躍するジャンプのアニメキャラクターたちが、最高の映像技術でさらにパワーアップしたぞ!!
This is a massive anime theater using the world’s best high definition video with over 3 times the amount of information compared to the current TV broadcasts on a huge screen that is 3.3 meters wide! The Jump anime characters from the movies have been further enhanced by this great video technology!!
8. Printed Materials Showcase Corner (印刷物紹介コーナー)
ここでは、実際のカラー印刷で使われた4色原版を展示して、ジャンプの印刷過程が一目でわかるようになっている! 海外出版コーナーでは、集英社と提携している各国の出版社で発行されるジャンプコミックスを紹介!! ジャンプキャラは、世界中で活躍している!!!
Next on display, is the 4 color plates used in color printing process for Jump! In the Overseas Publishing Corner, you can see various Jump series published by local publishers in various countries that are affiliated with Shueisha!! Jump character now live all over the world!!!
9. Multi World Oasis (マルチワールドオアシス)
あちこち歩き回って、疲れたところに現れるのがこのドリンクショップ! 売っているのは、『幽☆遊☆白書』、『SLAM DUNK』など、ジャンプキャラのイラスト付のドリンク缶が、全部で6種類!! 幽助や花道たち、ジャンプのスーパーキャラが疲れをフッとばすぞ!!!
If you are tired from walking, this drink shop is here for you! Six types of drink cans are for sale featuring illustrations of Jump characters from series like “Yu Yu Hakusho” and “Slam Dunk.” Yusuke and Hanamichi along with other super characters from Jump will knock out your fatigue!
10. Multi World Bazaar (マルチワールドバザール)
そして、最後に登場するコーナーはジャンプキャラクターのグッズショップだ! マルチワールド会場でしか手に入らない、限定販売のジャンプグッズが、ノートやTシャツ、キーホルダーまで勢ぞろい!!! イラストは、すべてオリジナル原画を使用しているぞ!!
The final corner features a Jump character goods shop! There’s a wide selection of Jump goods, including notebooks, T-shirts, and key chains. They are only available at this Multi World event!!! Plus, all of the illustrations are new drawings!
