We have just launched a new partner site, Aside Manga News! This joins our archipelago of various Manga Properties websites, similar to LAMA Watch (Watch Live Action Manga Adaptations).
It’s more than just a website, it’s going to be a series of videos launching on multiple video and social media platforms! So the news can come directly to you! Platforms the videos will be available at launch:
The same videos are going to be published on all platforms at the same time. So pick your favorite!
The goal of this news feed is to highlight smaller bits of manga news that can easily be missed. We’re not focusing on big and popular series, but instead the smaller series, or potentially ones you never heard of. Just like we do here on Manga Properties, we will also provide a bit more context to the news and the related manga series.
So why create a separate news site? In general, we view the articles here on Manga Properties to be “evergreen.” If you view it right when it’s posted, or maybe stumble across it years from now, the information should be accurate and still useful to read. However when doing things like news, there is a bit of timeliness that is needed. We aren’t trying to have the latest news, but it should be fairly recent. All of the videos will have a date listed on them so you can have a better understanding on new or old the news may be. There have been some smaller bits of recent news that have occurred that we didn’t create into articles since it wasn’t in alignment with what Manga Properties is. This new feed now gives us that opportunity to do so.
Why are these videos? One of the issues with how Manga Properties is structured is that you need to go to the website to view the article. Social media promotion is tricky as it would require links to read and don’t often “float up” on timelines or can get any sort of viral motion. Which is fine for the evergreen content that is here and isn’t really the goal of this website. But with Aside Manga News, we want to be able to better catch awareness which plays towards “the algorithm”. You’ll find that some of the news stories on Aside Manga News may reference Manga Properties articles when the time arise. These videos are also being cross-posted on other social media platforms which Manga Properties currently isn’t on. So this will help with that reach as well. It will always be an uphill battle, but helping to contribute to smaller news stories getting some light is still a positive.
As we are just getting started, we’ll be refining how the videos are presented and produced. Just like the earlier Manga Properties articles, it takes a little while to find the footing and build a platform that works. We are still going to continue the content as usual here on Manga Properties, so don’t worry about any changes. This is just another partner site that can further expand out on different topics.
We hope that you will enjoy the videos that we are creating and following along with what news stories we discover!
